Lakme Fashion Week, Winter/Festive 2016 indeed had a grand opening in the form of Tarun Tahiliani’s collection as the curtain raiser.
The line was inspired by the hemp and bronze sculptor Mrinalini Mukherjee. The ramp was set-up to revoke the post-modernist art forms and spilled over to the line as well. While the juxtaposition of forms dominated the show, warms colours like red and striking shades of cobalt blue added statement to the designs.
The designer added a glitzy element to the show where Kangana Ranaut show stopped in a black maxi satin skirt and a black top over an embellished jacket. Free-falling materials and drapes added a tactile effect to the collection. The collection, which was majorly ready-to-wear, resonated with the pret philosophy and looked minimalist and elegant
