Revisting ‘Kantha’ with a Twist
April 19, 2015
Designer duo Abraham and Thakore lived upto the expectations of minimalistic maestros at AIFW 2015. The autumn-winter season of the show witnessed an impeccable execution, with interesting motifs and intelligent weaves. The collection called 'Old New' explored sustainable fashion and A & T's love for traditional Indian weaves. They showcased shirts, trousers, kurtas, salwar suits, all structured to meet the needs of a fashion conscious mind. But the highlight of their collection remained the the 'Kantha' work bringing back the old charm. Their innovative minds moved forward with the use of discarded X ray sheets, quilting vintage borders and patchwork as embellishments... all in a heavy colour palette of ivory, wine, charcoal, plum and grape. Here's what the daper duo's recycled world looked like!
