The Grand dame of Indian Fashion and revivalist extraordinaire, Ritu Kumar does it yet again. This time it was Reviving Banaras on her mind. Her latest collection is divided into the pret and the opulent bridal line RI. Her experimentation revolves around handloom and handwoven fabrics, printing and texturing techniques. Zardosi and mukaish work is used vividly in her bridal line. Fresh shades of ivory, turquiose and pink for the colour palette. Floral accent create an ambiance of vintage romance complemented by relaxed silhouettes. The collection comes to life through summer fabrics such as jersey, cotton, chanderi, chiffon and georgette.
