Rustic Glamour by Ka-Sha at LFW S/R 16
May 11, 2016
Inspired by the rugged Pahari miniature paintings, Karishma Shahani Khan’s collection for her Ka-Sha label at LFW S/R 16 had rustic glam appeal. Beautiful Indian flora and fauna appeared periodically in colourful forms as detailing and surface ornamentation on the garments. Clamp dyed patterns appeared in the form of florals, while hand embroidery, block printing, twinkling mirror work and intricate smocking created a magical and reversible effect. The handwoven Jamdani and cotton fabrics, vibrated with rich hues like red, rose pink, inky blue and sunshine yellow to form a strong colour story. Shimmering pleated skirts, waist-accented dresses, waistcoats with multi print shirts, coats were part of the many fold pattern tale. Take a look.
